SOLD --- Rare Washington blue Ford Super Deluxe from 1948. An absolute eye catcher of a car that we would absolutely keep for ourselves. The color combination makes This Super Deluxe very unique.

Exterior:

The paint job that was done on this car was spot on, the Washington blue is very shiny and very special as the paint gives a metallic look. All the chrome details on the Ford are in very good condition as well as the chrome detailed wheels that look very good with the white wall tires. The soft top is in very good condition and the electric soft top works!

Interior:

The interior is in new condition and is magnificent with the detailed wooden dashboard. The seats are a mix of vinyl and cloth and are very comfortable, also no remarks of any stains or tears. This Super Deluxe came with electric windows and the electric soft top.

Mechanics:

Very comfortable driving car. 221CID 8-cylinder and the Ford has 4 mechanical drum brakes. Contact us for more information.

History:

Ford Motor Company introduced its De Luxe Ford line in 1938 as an upscale alternative to bridge the gap between its base model (usually called Standard)[2] and luxury Lincoln offerings. The "Deluxe" name was first used starting in 1930 to specify an upscale trim starting with the Model 40-B and Model 45-B, then later the De Luxe Ford line was differentiated as a separate "marque within a marque" with separate styling and pricing through 1940.[3] During 1939, Ford had five lines of cars: Ford, De Luxe Ford, Mercury, Lincoln-Zephyr, and Lincoln. After the war, this was simplified to Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln. The 1941 Ford line included "De Luxe" and "Super De Luxe" trim, but these vehicles were not marketed as a separate line. As Mercury Eight sales progressed, the De Luxe approach was cancelled.
