From Belgium to Hershey - October 2026

A different

side of America

This month we travelled across the Atlantic to Hershey, PA. for the annual AACA meeting. Hendrik and Gaëtan had already been last year, but for Vic it was a first. From the moment we arrived, we noticed how different this part of the United states is compared to California.

Instead of the coastal vibe, we found vast farmlands, rolling countryside and a strong Amish culture. It felt like a completely different America - More rural, more traditional and with a unique automotive culture.

A show that

requires walking

The AACA meeting is huge. We came here mainly to find parts that we couldn't locate online. That meant A LOT of walking - and we did! We spent hours exploring the swap meet, talking to specialists and searching for those hard-to-find pieces. It's the kind of place where you never know what you'll discover around the next corner.

Meeting Bart

During the show, we had the pleasure of meeting Bart, president of the international Ford Thunderbird club. We spoke with him about the current market for Ford Thunderbirds and the examples we saw at the show, just like this one finished in beautiful Sage Green. It was a great conversation and always interesting to exchange knowledge with someone who lives and breathes the Thunderbird world

Two special cars coming home

Our trip to Hershey was a succes and we found two fantastic cars to bring back to Belgium. A 1955 Ford Fairline Sunliner in beautiful two-tone blue and white, and a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette C2 Convertible in red with matching red interior. Two very different classics, but both with that unmistakable American character.

Pre-war cars are still on the road

What impressed us most about this region is the number of pre-war cars that are still being driven. Ford model T's in particular are everywhere. It's amazing to see these cars are still part of everyday life here in Pennsylvania. It's a true reminder that classic cars are meant to be enjoyed.

Our favourite discovery

After a week filled with incredible cars, one example stood out above the rest: A rare Studebaker Golden Hawk. With its bold styling and unique presence it was without a doubt the most special and beautiful car we saw during our trip.

A trip to remember

Our trip to Hershey was everything we love about the classic car world (Which is most definitely still alive): finding rare parts, discovering special cars, meeting passionate people and experiencing a completely different side of America. We returned to Belgium with two new cars, a lot of inspiration and many great memories.
