Exterior:

The 1966 Marcos 1800 GT features a low-slung, sleek fiberglass body with a long nose and short tail. The whole body was made to me as aerodynamic as possible, with the nose being slightly more upwards.

The Marcos has fixed side windows with sliding panels, and rides on wire wheels. One feature that shows that the car was originally built as a road car, eerybody knows it can get hot in a race-car, here is your solution, a sunroof.

One more unusual feature is the wooden chassis, this was a hallmark of Marcos design.

Interior:

This 1966 Marcos has a snug, minimalist interior with deep bucket seats, a wood-trimmed dashboard full of classic gauges that are all in working order, and a low, reclined driving position designed for pure driver engagement. The seat itself is not adjustable, but ANOTHER unusual feature is that the pedals can move back or towards you.

Mechanics:

Your 1966 Marcos 1800 GT, fitted with an upgraded Volvo B18 engine,  features robust and reliable mechanicals:

  • The upgraded 1800cc inline-4 (1,8 --> 2.0 litre upgrade) delivers strong, torquey performance, especially appreciated in the Marcos's lightweight chassis.

  • It uses a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, paired with a manual gearbox (4-speed)

  • The car rides on independent front suspension and a live rear axle, offering a balance between handling and simplicity.

  • Braking is via disc brakes up front and drums at the rear, typical for the era.

Overall, it's a mechanically straightforward but well-engineered setup, combining Swedish engine durability with British sports car agility.
